Mexican Coffee
I have never been to Mexico. Pretty much everyone I know has, but I'm still one of those people who haven't gone on a vacation since the stone ages. There was a period of 4 years that I was traveling a lot, I went to England twice, and to the Philippines (pretty much both places to visit family)
So I'm not actually sure if this is actually coffee popular or made in Mexico, but I combined recipes I found online that claimed they were "Mexican coffee" so I am going about this on blind faith.
I love making different variations to the coffee I drink. You know, since I drink coffee almost ALL the time, I would like to switch it up. Try something new. And I'm quite satisfied with this. But that's not going to stop me from experimenting more...

Makes 1 drink
What you'll need:
-1 1/2 tablespoons ground coffee
-1 whole clove
-1/2 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
-1 1/2 cup water
-1 tablespoon brown sugar

ReplyDeleteHi Cathleen, love your Mexican coffee. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, regards.
I am a coffee addict too! But I will stick to my regular Filter coffee..I won't able to adjust a slight change in the coffee taste! ;)
ReplyDeleteYour version looks interesting! :)
I just love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a coffee freak too.. Would love to try this Mexican version!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee drinker, but the cinnamon mixed in with the chocolate sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like my coffee plain with just a bit of milk or a simple latte with no additional flavors or sugar. However, every once in a while, my boyfriend would secretly add stuff to my coffee (cocoa, sugar, cinnamon, melted chocolate) and that totally brightens up my day. I should allow myself these sweet pleasures more often, right? P.S. I went to a bar once and ordered Mexican coffee (it had some Kahlua and it was awesome!).
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a delicious pick-me-up!
ReplyDeletelove all the flavors going in there...
ReplyDeleteOh, I know the feeling. Not only have I never been to Mexico, I haven't been on a real vacation in a few years now. But at least we can taste other cultures through food, right? :) I've never heard of Mexican coffee before, but I just adore Mexican chocolate!
ReplyDeleteAaah....coffee, it's a must for me in the morning or else everything is not in working order for me.... hee....With the spices in, this must be a flavourful coffee. I never had anything like this before. Should I try?
