What have I been eating lately? Burgers? Fries? Things that I can get my hands on fast and easy so I don't need to worry about taking time to prepare something.
Well, I think I definitely need to reconsider my priorities. Or reconsider my food choices.
I never knew how delicious and easy making a salad was! Well, I guess I did know it was easy considering my salad making past.
Let me take you through the process of me making a salad prior to this delicious creation.
1.Walk into a grocery store.
2. Buy romaine lettuce.
3. Wash and break up the lettuce
4. Put it in a bowl. Voila. Salad is done.
Needless to say I was a little boring when it comes to making salad. But after making this, I will reconsider my usual go-to salad.
What you'll need:
-2 tablespoons sesame seeds
-1/4 cup white sugar
-1/2 cup olive oil
-1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
-1/4 teaspoon chipotle
-1/4 teaspoon worchestershire sauce
-1 tablespoon onion, minced
-4 cups spinach
-2 cups strawberries, fresh, washed and sliced
-1/4 cup almonds
Direction:
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sesame seeds, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, chipotle, worchestershire sauce and onion. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
2. In a large bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds. Pour dressing over salad and toss.

ReplyDeleteI love putting strawberries in salad! Try roasting them sometime (just toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and roast in 400 degree oven until they're done to your liking) - terrific flavor, and they work so well in salads (balsamic vinegar is great). Anyway, love the salad you've put together - good stuff! Thanks.
